PedalRetro
PedalRetro is a journey into our shared cycling history. Join us to relive and celebrate a time when not just the bikes, but our roads, cycle clothing and day-to-day life seemed so much simpler!
Any pre-2000 bike is welcome to join us and we eagerly encourage you to find some woolly tights and jerseys and come prepared to impress your peers with your sartorial cycling elegance to match your PedalRetro machine.
Choose a ride from 25-100 miles or just rock-up in our PedalRetro s”Noggin & Natter” parking area (just £10 for as many bikes and people you can fit in your car!) alongside the finish line, unload your pride and joy and proudly display your bikes, kit and memorabilia and help us relive the golden era of cycling. With our Noggin and Natter ticket you are also welcome to bring your cycle jumble!
Whether you are into 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s or favour classic Italian bikes over hand-built bespoke British creations we hope to have a huge selection of bikes, riders and memorabilia to share with you in a celebration of cycling through the ages. Whether you choose to ride, ride and show or just show you will be very welcome – and we can’t wait to see what you bring!

PedalRetro is all about enjoying he bikes, memorabilia and kit of times gone by and enjoying the company and banter of like-minded enthusiasts. However, we will be awarding prizes for best attire, the bike of the decade (for each decade represented) and every entrant will have the chance to vote for the big award…. The Spirit of the Show which will recognise one participant and the contribution they have made to our inaugural PedalRetro. Make room on your mantelpiece!

We take great care and attention when planning our routes and our riders regularly praise us for finding interesting and safe routes. Unlike some, we design our routes with local knowledge, then drive, then produce detailed risk assessments which form part of our detailed Event Management Plan that is shared with local authorities. We then ride all our routes ourselves before erecting signage and final drive through for roadworks and closures a few days before the event.

Royalty Route
An epic day out on your PedalRetro machine and one to remember as you pedal into the Suffolk lanes through our private cyclist-only Foxhall gate.
Head North towards Ashbocking where our friends on the Peloton Ride split away. We continue through Coddenham for our first drink stop with homemade nibbles at a charming traditional village hall at Winston. Then it is through the delightful town of Debenham (where our Rouleur Ride friends depart) and onward North through the market town of Eye and the beautiful Hoxne.
After a breeze through Stradbrooke it is lunch at Brundish just before our Brittania Route colleagues split and leave us as we to continue to Metfield and Peasenhall before we enjoy a drink and nibble stop at Bruisyard village hall (or you could call in the vineyard if you prefer!).
As we continue South we have a magnificent view of the castle across the mere at Framlingham where the Britannia Ride rejoins us, before we do a celebratory lap around Framlingham and up Market Hill. Next stop is the amazing village of Easton, where the Ruler Ride rejoins us. Look out for traditional thatched Round Houses and some of the best Suffolk Crinkle Crinkle walls you will ever see!
We are now heading firmly back to Trinity Park but without the busy A12 or any of its junctions. We enjoy the historic market square at Wickham Market before negotiating Melton and Woodbridge, where the Peloton Ride meets us once again. Then it is a clever piece of route design that weaves us back into the cyclist-only entrance at the rear of Trinity Park via Marttlesham.
